TLC IS GOING GREEN

Because of the hard work from the teachers, students and parents of TLC, we are pleased to announce that Lincoln Center has received the 2015 Michigan Emerald School designation, by completing at least 15 energy saving and environmental tasks.  A recognition ceremony included a certificate and banner.

Public Act 301 (2010) updated and revised P.A. 146 (2006), which established the Michigan Green Schools program. A public school in Michigan may apply to be designated a "Green School" by submitting the appropriate information to Wayne
RESA. The intent of the TLC Going Green #1 (1) Michigan Green Schools
Program is to encourage students to participate in
activities which help them learn about preserving
natural resources, protect the environment and
 promote energy efficiency and savings.

The Lincoln Center is currently in the process of
completing the necessary requirements to become a
Michigan Green School. TLC will be recognized as
Green by achieving 10 or more energy saving and
environmental activities in an academic year. The
activities are set up in categories:  Recycling, Energy Saving, Environmental Protection and Miscellaneous. TLC is striving to achieve environmental goals which include protecting the air, land, water and animals of
our state along with world outreach through good ecological practices and the teaching of educational stewardship of students.
